Grants to New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey nonprofit organizations in eligible regions for programs that benefit women and girls. Interested applicants are required to contact program staff prior to applying. Funding is intended to support cultural, educational, and social service organizations that promote job skills, life skills, and the academic, artistic, and athletic leadership abilities of girls and women. Funded activities will serve the New York Metropolitan area; requests will be accepted from New York as far north as Kingston, New Jersey as far south as Trenton, and Southern Connecticut.

The Foundation makes three (3) types of grants:

  1. Ongoing or new program support
  2. Seed grants for start-up organizations
  3. One-time grants to help solve a problem or build capacity

Term of Contract:

In certain situations, multi-year grants will be considered to follow a cohort of participants through a multi-year program.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Patrina Foundation is presently concentrating its funding in the New York Metropolitan area and surrounding counties. Proposals will be considered from New York as far north as Kingston, New Jersey as far south as Trenton, and Southern Connecticut.

Grants are made exclusively to tax-exempt organizations, with the exception of private foundations. Grantees are primarily educational, cultural, and social service organizations which promote academic, artistic, athletic, job skills, life skills, and/or leadership abilities of girls and women.

The Foundation does not fund individuals.

All uploaded copies of the completed application are due by the close of business on the date of the deadline. All mailed copies must be postmarked by the deadline.

Grant application process:

1. Step 1: Please call or email Kara D’Angelo to discuss your grant application and obtain a Registration Key.
2. Step 2: Download the guidelines and follow the instructions precisely.
3. Step 3: Create the grant proposal and gather supporting documents in pdf format.
4. Step 4: Complete the online registration form. (A Registration Key is required for all new registrations. After registering or signing in, you may upload PDF copies of your required documents.)
5. Step 5: Mail 6 copies of the completed application to the Foundation.

Organizations may only apply for funding once a year, except through a Board request.
