THE BROOKLYN UNITED METHODIST HEALTH SERVICES FOUNDATION, INC. (THE FOUNDATION) WAS ESTABLISHED IN SEPTEMBER 1997 TO SEEK PHILANTHROPIC SUPPORT FOR THE PURPOSES OR USE OF THE BROOKLYN UNITED METHODIST CHURCH HOME (THE HOME) AND OTHER NURSING HOMES AND ORGANIZATIONS WITHIN NEW YORK STATE WHICH QUALIFY AS EXEMPT ORGANIZATIONS UNDER SECTION 501(C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE, THAT ARE NOT PRIVATE FOUNDATIONS UNDER SECTION 509(A)(1) OR (2), THAT PROVIDE SERVICES TO, OR FOR THE BENEFIT OF, THE ELDERLY AND/OR OTHER INDIVIDUALS. THE FOUNDATION WILL GRANT FUNDS TO THE HOME OR OTHER SUCH ORGANIZATIONS UNDER THE DIRECTION OF ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
