The Artist Development Fund was created to support and promote outstanding artists identifying with underrepresented communities and provide a platform to showcase and celebrate their independent, empowered, and creative forms of visual expression. This content will be part of the Adobe Stock collection (https://stock.adobe.com/) to help with truthful representation in the stock and media industry.
The Fund is prioritizing content from self-identifying artists that authentically depicts the lives and experiences of:
*Community members may engage a Director of Photography (DP) Ally for assistance in bringing their creative vision to life across stills or video. A DP Ally is a “director of photography,” or “camera-person,” who can physically assist an Artist Development Fund recipient with capturing visual assets being submitted to stock.adobe.com for the Advocates program. The DP Ally captures footage per the Artist Development Fund recipient’s creative direction. Artist Development Fund recipient, not the DP Ally, retains copyright for all assets submitted to the program. DP Ally should reasonably be considered an Ally to the community being represented in the shoot, and must be close to the applicant (i.e, a family member). Self-representing people from Disabled, Veteran, and/or Indigenous communities are encouraged to consider this option. Please contact the Artist Development Fund staff for further information.
Selected artists will deliver one of the three options:
A video stock footage clip is a 5-60 second clip that is either silent (no sound) or may have ambient natural sound. There are no voice-overs, narration or music. Video stock footage requires model releases if recognizable people are in the clips.
Artists will be able to take advantage of promotional opportunities to share their work, voices and personal stories with the Adobe community and its partners. Be seen and heard with Adobe Stock Advocates via Creative Cloud and Adobe Stock social channels, blogs and/or websites.
The Artist Development Fund was created to provide meaningful financial support to help artists overcome barriers to mounting creative productions, such as:
Adobe Stock will collaborate with selected artists to execute creative productions inspired by one of the eight intersectional narrative creative briefs (https://pages.adobe.com/stock/en/advocates/#explore-the-creative-briefs) —or guided by their unique experiences and point of view to craft their own commission proposal.
