Grants of up to $5,000 and in-kind support to USA nonprofit head start programs to educate children and communities about the importance of gardening. In addition to the cash grants, participants will receive gift cards to purchase educational resources, including tools, kits, and curriculum materials.
Through the Gro More Good Garden Grants initiative, NHSA will work with Head Start programs across the country to teach children, families, and communities how to grow their own fresh produce—for life.
This multi-year initiative will make garden grants, garden kits, educational curriculum, and garden training available to all Head Start programs with the goal of creating more edible gardens for young children and their families.
Hands-on experiences in the garden provide young children with a multitude of life-enhancing benefits, including:

Grant awards will vary from $2,500—$5,000. Recipients will also receive a gift card for the purchase of garden curriculum materials, tools and additional gardening resources.
