Grants of up to $10,000 to New York businesses and commercial property owners in eligible locations for emergency assistance due to recent riots. Funding is intended to help small businesses, and property owners with an existing small-business tenant, with exterior renovations or repairs. Eligible applicants are located in Albany.

Examples of exterior renovations include, but are not limited to repair of signs, lighting, windows, awnings, storefronts and entrances, doors, brickwork, painting and repair of decorative details.

Pre-Application Information:

This emergency round of funding will close on June 30 at 5:00 PM.

This Program consists of a brief two-part application process. Please complete Part 1 of the application and submit. Your Part 1 application will be reviewed by staff for initial eligibility. Once your Part 1 application has been reviewed, please review the Part 2 application checklist and submit by email. For an application to be considered, both Parts 1 and 2 of the application must be submitted and determined to be complete by Capitalize Albany and in its sole discretion.

Local business owners are encouraged to contact Capitalize Albany as other improvements may also be considered for support.

Application fees and investment match requirements will be waived to ensure there are no impediments to local businesses most at risk — minority or women-owned businesses and those that were directly impacted by recent vandalism and looting.
