Grants averaging $10,000 to USA nonprofit organizations working to enhance agriculture production, with an emphasis on organic farming. LOIs are due January 18, 2018. The Foundation seeks to support creative initiatives that expand organic acres and grow the number of organic farmers working in the country. The Foundation supports organizations that serve local communities with organic food and farming projects.

The Foundation helps sustain projects that address the priorities to:

-Increase organic agriculture by significantly increasing acreage and impact that is defined and measurable.

-Foster the next generation of organic farmers by increasing the number of organic farmers with an impact that is defined and measurable on the National or regional level.

-Provide research and science to develop organic farming practices, increase organic acreage and/or the number of organic farmers with an impact (defined/measurable) on the National or regional level.

-Protect the biodiversity of the seed supply (protecting heirloom/breeding organic) and the stewardship of genetic resources of organic seed with an impact (defined/measurable) on the National or regional level.

-Teach organic farming practices with programs (such as Farm to School) that are within 35 miles of one of the funding source facilities.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Foundation accepts grant applications from eligible 501(c)(3) organizations based in the United States.

The Foundation cannot fund organizations that are based outside the US, but if your organization is a US-based organization that does work globally, then you may be eligible for a grant.

The Foundation does not fund individuals for scholarships; however, if the organization you are applying to would like to determine its eligibility then it may start the process now.
