Request a Grant Writer

Grants ranging from $1,000 to $2,500 to New York nonprofit organizations, schools, and municipalities to benefit communities within the Adirondack region. Funding is intended to support programs that are aligned with the Foundation's priority focus areas: educational opportunity, family and human well-being, and community and economic vitality. Adirondack Foundation's service area is defined as the Adirondack Park, as well as all of Franklin and Clinton counties.

Current focus areas:

  • Human and Family Well-Being: Providing basic needs for people such as food and housing, creating age-friendly opportunities for well-being, enhancing home and community-based services from early childhood development to elder care.
  • Educational Opportunity: Promoting literacy, improving school readiness, enhancing educational experiences, developing work skills.
  • Economic and Community Vitality: Addressing economic challenges such as downtown revitalization, strengthening pathways toward upward economic mobility, bolstering community livability and vitality.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Typical grants will be in the $1,000 to $2,500 range. A limited number may be as high as $10,000.

Term of Contract:

Generous Acts Fund (GAF) grants are single-year.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Nonprofit organizations, schools, and municipalities may apply.

Adirondack Foundation's service area is defined as the Adirondack Park as well as all of Franklin and Clinton counties. If your organization exists outside this service area, but its programs provide services to communities with those boundaries, you are still eligible to apply.

Capital campaigns are not funded.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications must be received by 5:00 PM on Monday, February 3, 2020. Grant notifications will be in early March.
